Collaboration in the street

Here are a selection of coats and jackets from Her Citi,
styled by me.

The first one is this long vintage Danimac.
A slicked back ponytail adds to the slick city look.

Next is this grey blazer,
its sharp shoulders and simple shape
ofset by bold jewellery (also from Her Citi).

Lastly is this elegant Wallis coat.
The wonderful length and shape make it a classic piece
to wear every year.

Fair isle favourite

The perfect thing to wear on colder days
is a thick knitted cardie.

My favourite has to be this fair isle one.

The mustard shade is a wonderfully autumnal colour.

Teamed with a deep purple scarf and jeans
it makes a great weekend outfit.

Outfit:
Mustard Fair isle cardie, striped T-shirt, jeans, spotty wellies.

Accessories:
Purple scarf, red belt.

A gorgeous jacket

With the seasons slowly changing,
it seemed time to start wearing something a little warmer.

This beautifully tailored brown cord jacket
from Toast was just the thing.

The velvet collar and box flap at the back
are just some of the wonderful details.

I love to wear it with this floral charity shopped Jack Wills top.

A lovely way to smarten up a casual weekend outfit.

Outfit:
Toast jacket, Jack Wills navy floral top, jeans, tan loafers.

Rust is in

Here is an outfit from the very beginning of autumn.

And what is more autumnal than rust,
a colour which has seen a welcome return in fashion this season.

Above is an outfit I reccently wore,
which revolves entirely around my favourite
knitted, cropped, brown and orange tank top.

Paler shades of orange and brown ofset the garish yet trendy 70s colours
for an ensemble that slides easily into autumn.

Outfit:
Vintage tank top, striped cardie, brown top,
straight leg jeans, tan loafers.

Accessories:
Rust scarf, purple scarf, orange beads.

Cashmere by the sea

These photos were taken on a clear, but rather blustery, day
on the beach this summer.

The beautiful sunshine gave me a chance to wear
these pastel coloured floral jeans.

However it was still cool enough to wear
this charity-shopped cashmere jumper.

The soft tones of this outfit matched
the bluey-grey pebbles and pale green grasses.

Paired with plimsolls, it was the perfect outfit for
a relaxed stroll on the beach.

Outfit:
Pale green cashmere jumper, floral cropped jeans,
black and white plimsolls.

Accessories:
Soft green hat, retro sunglasses.

Vintage styling

The primary colours of this 50s style outfit
look wonderfully bright against a sandstone wall.

The electric blue jumper draws out the yellow and grey
of the bold patterned skirt.

Accessorised with a mustard scarf,
high ponytail, quiff, and blue patent heels,
it has the perfect sophisticated style.

Outift:
Electric blue V-neck jumper, printed skirt (from Her Citi), patent blue heels.

Accessories:
Silk mustard scarf, large blue ring.

A new entry to my wardrobe

Finally, I have the one item of clothing my wardrobe
has been waiting for - a cape.

What better place to show off its majestic shape than
the ruins of an isolated abbey.

The battered green cordrouy looked wonderful against
the moss-covered grey stone.

And paired with a dark top and slim trousers it created a striking silhouette.

Heavy gold jewellry reflected the detail on the cape,
whilst black boots brings the outfit up-to-date.

The whole shoot was finished off with a blustery wind
and a drizzling mist of rain, adding to the desolate feel of the ruin.

Outfit:
Vintage green cord cape, black top,
slim khaki trousers, black lace-up boots.

Accessories:
Green teardrop and gold pendant, small gold ring.

Scotland series - Part 4

Blue skies, white sand and long grasses combined
to make the perfect seaside beach.

I chose an outfit with a nautical twist
- a white and navy striped top paired with spotty shorts.

The slight breeze meant a cardie was needed,
but a scarf twisted to look like sea rope was the finishing touch.

Outfit:
Striped top, khaki cardie, navy and white spotted shorts.

Accessories:
Twisted blue scarf.

Scotland series - Part 3

This theatrical woodland was a surprise find on one of our walks.

The bright green moss perfectly matched the silk scarf around my neck.

And the jewel tones of my scarf, worn as a turban,
reflected the strong colours of the backdrop.

Outfit:
Long sleeved striped T-shirt, cropped jeans, spotty wellies.

Accessories:
Purple scarf as turban, green scarf round neck.

Scotland series - Part 2

A cagoule and wellies were needed for a trip to
this loch-side castle on a blustery day.

Teamed with cropped trousers and a T-shirt I was perfectly dressed
for typically indecisive British weather.

The backdrop was so stunning that the only
accessory I needed was this plaited scarf.

The sub-dued colour of my outfit matched the
mossy stone of the rock face.

Whilst the jewel colours of the two scarves made me blend in
with the vivid flowers, heather and bracken.

Outfit:
Green cagoule, stripy T-shirt, cropped jeans, spotty wellies.

Accessories:
Two plaited vintage silk scarves.

Scotland series - Part 1

Here is the first of many photos I took whilst on holiday this summer.

I though I would start with a stereotypical Scottish view
- a beautifully scenic loch.

I decided to wear a relatively pratical outfit for the climb up this tower,
choosing comfortable jeans and a warm cardie.

Deciding that scarves were the easiest way to add interest to my outfits,
I knotted this large purple one so that it could be used as a handbag.

Outfit:
Green cardie, stripy top, jeans, sensible shoes.

Accessories:
Large purple patterned scarf, oval pendant.
