Thrifty transformation

All sorts of gems can be found in charity shops,
such as this floral floaty blouse.

A few alterations to the collar,
and some ruching at the waist and on the sleeves
gave the blouse a more flattering shape.

Its dusty colours meant the blouse looked great dressed down
with khaki trousers for lunch with friends .

Outfit:
Altered blouse, brown T-shirt, khaki trousers, red lace-up pumps.

Accessories:
Vintage green bag, parrot necklace, green ring.

A dramatic backdrop

A visit to a ruined castle needed a regally inspired outfit.

The desolate setting, grey weather and crumbling stone
made the perfect backdrop.

A sharp silhouette and a fitted pastel jacket
contrasted the rugged, mossy walls.

An emerald green silk scarf
added an element of luxury to the outfit.

Outfit:
Charity-shopped pastel jacket, striped T-shirt,
slim khaki trousers, black lace-up boots.

Accessories:
Pale green hat, silk scarf, tan leather belt,
vintage green handbag.

A quirky jacket

Sometimes one statement piece is all you need
to make an interesting outfit.

The chain print, reminiscent of a vintage scarf,
looks perfect against a simple top and cropped jeans.

The great shape and flattering cut of the jacket
makes this an easy outfit to wear.

Outfit:
Scarf-print jacket, stripy T-shirt, cropped jeans,
black and white lace-up plimsols.

Accessories:
Union Jack teapot necklace, red bow ring,
red satchel bag.

Woodland sunshine

A gloriously sunny day requires an equally bright outfit .

Majestic woodland pines, long seeded grass and light bursting through the canopy
made a perfect backdrop for my blue ensemble.

Broken branches and twisted tree roots perfectly contrast the simple shapes
of the pleated shorts and cropped cardigan.

Outfit:
Blue cropped cardigan, blue stripy T-shirt,
pleated floral shorts, black and white lace-up plimsols.

Summer dip-dye

The pastel hues of this 50s style skirt reminded me of this dip-dyed cardigan
- a perfect summery match.

Simple accessories, slicked back hair and plain separates
let the main pieces do all the talking.

Outfit:
Dip-dye pale blue cardigan, plain blue T-shirt,
50s print floaty skirt.

Accessories:
Parrot and teacup necklace, pale green ring.

The ultimate colour trio

red, white and blue.

The navy and white spotted dress is brought alive by the red satchel bag,
whilst the pin-stripe jacket below gives a smarter edge.

Outfit:
Navy spotted dress, navy pin-stripe jacket, jeans.

Accessories:
