So long, farewell

I have been doing this blog for over a year now
and it has been so much fun...

...but now that I am moving to the city,
it seems like the right time to say goodbye to Driveway Fashion
and hello to something new.

Looking back

I was looking at some old photos the other day
and found a photoshoot that I did
when I first started this blog.

I didn't like these pictures at the time,
but now I really like the lighting and contrast.

It's nice to see how things change over the space of a year.

Outfit:
Grey jumper, cropped jeans, spotty wellies.

Autumn coats

I recently modelled some autumn coats for Her Citi.

This over-sized tweed coat has a great shape.

This coat below has a wonderful texture to it.

I really like the ruffled detail on this navy jacket below.

Outfits:
coats and jackets from Her Citi.

Accessories:
Bag from Her Citi, my own floral scarf.

Relaxing on the beach

Old favourites are the best when lounging around at the beach.

So here it was my usual nautical stripes...

...teamed with this high-waisted spotty skirt
that I found in a charity shop years ago.

Navy pumps, my favourite sunglasses
and this mustard chain necklace keep the look relaxed.

Outfit:
Striped top, spotty skirt, navy pumps.

Accessories:
Chain necklace.

Museum visit

What should you wear when visiting a museum?

For me it was this floral top,
dressed down with comfy jeggings and a slouchy cardie.

Biker boots,
perfect for wandering around multiple galleries,
finish the look.

Oufit:
Floral top, green cardie, jeggings, boots.

Accessories:
Branch necklace, wooden bracelets.

Travelling chic

Sometimes it is interesting to rediscover
a place you haven't visited in a while.

So for a rambling woodland walk
I threw together these tribal prints.

I have always liked this paisley skirt
and yet never been quite sure what to wear it with.

It seems this bag and wooden jewellery
were just meant to go with it.

The bright red cardie and shoes brings the ensemble together.

Outfit:
Vintage paisley skirt, blue top, red cardie, red shoes.

Accessories:
Reversible bag, wooden necklace, various wooden bracelets.

Country house living

It was a glorious day when I visited this grand house
set in wonderful grounds.

This floaty chiffon dress
seemed a suitable thing to wear.

I like the demure shape of the collar and sleeves,
paired with the delicate pattern.

Wonderful dressed down with bright pumps and plaited hair.

Outfit:
Chiffon dress, red lace-up pumps.

Trends

Film cameras are very trendy at the moment.

And few things beat the simple pleasure
of using a Polaroid camera.

Also on trend at the moment is drop hemlines.

I love the shape of this floaty dress,
paired with bold red wedges and a cropped cardie.

Outfit:
Spotty blue dress, red carrie, red wedge heels.

Summer days

This dress is the perfect thing to wear
on long sunny days.

The bias cut makes for a very flattering and easy to wear shape.

The bold floral print looks lovely
against the long seeded grasses.

Braided hair and chunky jewellery
was all that was needed to finish off the outfit.

Outfit:
Blue floral dress (courtesy of Her Citi).

Accessories:
Bold flower necklace, various bangles and bracelets.

New Camera

I recently got a wonderful new camera.

I was so excited to use it,
that I had to go out and take some photos.

So here is the relaxed outfit I was wearing that day.

The clash of stripes and floral go together surprisingly well.

Outfit:
Striped top, floral jeans, bird print flats.

Accessories:
Bird scarf.

Vintage series - part 3

This is the last set of photos featuring
my grandmother's vintage dresses.

This halter-neck green evening dress
is perhaps my favourite of them all.

The pleated waist detail and
drop hem create an elegant shape.

The way the skirt drapes and billows as I walk
makes me feel so glamorous whenever I wear it.

These green leather gloves, picked up at a vintage fair,
were luckily a perfect match.

Outfit:
Green halter-neck dress, black suede heels.

Accessories:
Green leather gloves.

Vintage series - part 2

Here is the second set of photos
taken outside the old hotel,
featuring another dress of my grandmother's.

I love the simple shape of this strapless gown
and its lustrous green fabric.

Wearing this dress feels like a step back in time
to the hey-day of the building behind.

All that is needed is simple lace gloves
and heels to finish a glorious outfit.

Outfit:
Vintage green dress, suede heels.

Accessories:
Handmade lace gloves.

Vintage series

Here is the first set of photos
from a collection of vintage ball gowns and dresses
that once belonged to my grandmother.

This orange dress has the most amazing
flash of gold woven into the fabric.

I love so many of the classic features of this dress -
from the cummerbund style waist,
to the pleated drape at the back.

As soon as you put this dress on you feel
as though you have stepped back in time.

I liked the contrast of wearing such a glamorous dress
against the dilapidated backdrop of this boarded up hotel.

Outfit:
Orange and gold vintage dress, black suede heels.
